Krishnan is an author, historian and a literary enthusiast. He has done research in the fields of Tamil history & literature and has written many articles and books on these subjects. In Tamil literature, he has specialized in Sangam literature in particular including Pura Naanooru, Aga Naanooru, Madurai Kanchi etc.
He had also translated some notable books in Tamil which include Artha Sastram of Thomas R Trautman Pazhanthamil Vanigarkal by Kanakalatha Mukund.
